The University of Lusaka is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill up the positions of Lecturer in the School of Business, Economics, and Management on a full-time basis. These candidates should be highly motivated and passionate about making a mark in the education sector in respect of the following fields;

  1. Economics
  2. Information Technology / Computer Science

QUALIFICATIONS

Economics (1 Position)

To be considered for this position, one must have the following qualifications;

  • A Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
  • A Master’s Degree in Economics.
  • A Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching/Lecturing Methodology,
  • A PhD in this particular field will be an added advantage.
  • Five (5) years industrial experience in these fields of study will be added advantage.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience of lecturing at tertiary level.

Information Technology / Computer Science (1 Position)

To be considered for this position, one must have the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • A Master of Science in Computer Science or any related field.
  • A Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching/Lecturing Methodology.
  • A PhD in this particular field will be an added advantage.
  • Five (5) years industrial experience in these fields of study will be added advantage.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience of lecturing at tertiary level.

Summary of Job Responsibilities

  • Lecture assigned courses.
  • Develop and improve course outlines and teaching materials for the assigned courses.
  • Carry out research and publish materials.
  • Supervising both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students’ research work
  • Prepare lesson plans at the start of each semester for the assigned courses.

Key Qualities and skills:

  • Self-motivated and resourceful with strong intellectual ability.
  • Ability to research and create new knowledge.
  • Should be a goal getter and a team player.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Must be articulate and have strong interpersonal skills.
  • High level of planning and organizing skills.
  • Must be familiar with Moodle e-learning platform or other e-learning platforms.
  • Passionate about teaching and research.
