Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation with the University of Maryland is hiring a laboratory technician to support their HIV program in the Southern Province

Job Description: Provide laboratory technical assistance to MOH health facilities that provide HIV services in the Southern Province. Mentor and support laboratory personnel in good laboratory procedures and standards. Support facilities processing viral load samples with collection, cold-chain storage and transport, processing, reporting, and logistic systems. Support SmartCare logistics and reporting systems for laboratory data entry and resulting. Provide training on HIV testing, commodities management, and other laboratory procedures.

Location: Livingstone or Choma; preference will be given to applicants that already live in these areas. Fluency in Tonga will be an added advantage.

Qualifications: Bachelors or Diploma in Biomedical Sciences, Register with Health Professional Council of Zambia; Work experience with HIV/ART programs providing training, mentoring, and supervision to health facility laboratories. Experience with quantitative viral load processing, CD4, chemistry, hematology, and TB diagnostics.
