Purpose:   Plan, design and implement policies for the smooth operations of the University Network Infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Design and document the University network infrastructure
• Maintaining the health of the University Internet connectivity
• Keep up-to-date backup of all communication device configuration files
• Planning, installing and configuring of wireless networks and other supporting network communication devices
• Carry out local area network expansions and upgrades from time to time
• Carry out network troubleshooting and maintenance
• Develop and design network optimizations to enhance operational efficiency
• Carry out configurations of all network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls
• Carry out POP room maintenance and cabling of all network media and technologies
• Maintenance of wide area network and wireless technologies
• Documentation and inventory of the network
• Providing training and technical support to users

Qualifications:

•  Grade 12 School Certificate
•  Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree or any related IT field or Bachelor of Engineering degree
• CCNA and MCSE certification would be an added advantage
• At least two (2) years relevant work experience
