JOB TITLE: SENIOR SYSTEMS DEVELOPER (1 POSITION) Purpose: Responsible for effectively and efficiently planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the project members during design, development and implementation of computer applications/operating system software to ensure provision of quality service to users at the University of Zambia. Responsibilities: (i) Translation of user stories into statements of work, business process and business requirements and ensure that those statements are clear, precise and sufficient (ii) Design complex application software to meet business requirements (iii) Build application software (iv) Lead and coordinate software testing (v) Provide technical leadership on short to medium length projects as required (vi) Knowledge transfer and training delivery (vii) Release management for both production and user acceptance test environments (viii) Provide technical and user support (ix) Supervision of subordinates Qualifications: (i) Grade 12 School Certificate (ii) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Studies or ICT (iii) At least 3 years relevant work experience in systems analysis and design, min server and micro-computer environment and knowledge of various software and utilities (iv) Knowledge of 4GI, DBMS languages, UNIX, Windows, NT and Microsoft products added advantage (v) Member of Computer Society of Zambia
