Warehouse and Logistics Manager

Job purpose
To ensure end to end warehouse & logistics (including asset tracking and inventory monitoring) management for efficient, cost effective & timely project implementation and optimal stock availability.

Reporting to supply chain management director, the main duties are

  • Manage Airtel’s warehouse’s in line with Airtel policies
  • Ensure that accurate and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are properly maintained.
  • Ensure that standard systems are properly maintained at warehouses.
  • Assess the availability of space and prepare stacking/storage plans prior to programming/contingency commodities arrivals.
  • Supervise the receipt of all arriving consignments.
  • Monitor the quantity and quality of commodities stored.
  • Carry out regular physical random warehouse checks of commodities and inventory
  • Prepare all procedures and necessary steps for commodity disposal;
  • Produce regular stocks reports and daily stocks positions;
  • Prepare loading plans and ensure that standard waybills are duly complete
  • Warehouse security management

Partner relationship and performance management

  • To effectively manage the Warehouse partner ensuring issues are formally tracked and resolved with closure reports to stakeholders
  • Define and continuously refine Contracts, Service Level Agreement and Performance measures for & with Warehouse partners providing guidance on penalty/bonus and ensuring contracted deliverables are managed effectively
  • Ensuring timely feedback/response to Queries & Requests related to Logistics
  • Closely coordinating logistics between End user and Vendor

Management of asset tracking and customs and transit logistics

  • Manage Delivery of all Opex Items (Sim Cards, Recharges etc)
  • Manage delivery of all Technical items/Equipment
  • Manage custom clearance of imported consignments.
  • Monitoring & reviews of all critical logistical activities
  • Logistics Planning and Cost Control
  • Asset tracking of received and dispatched  items
  • Process management for bills & invoices pertaining to Customs handling warehousing agency, transporters & to ensure timely payment to vendors.

People development

  • Regular communication and feedback mechanism to foster work balance
  • Develop and motivate team members through structured training and on the job coaching
  • Establish performance expectations and regularly review individual performance
  • Identify and deploy programs for improving engagement level of team members.
  • Recommend appropriate rewards and recognition

Required skill and knowledge

  • Degree in Business Administration, Engineering
  • Masters would be preferred additional qualification
  • Functional knowledge of SCM operations
  • Preferably knowledge on ERP/Oracle for SCM
  • 5 + years of experience in Warehouse ad Logistice Management
  • 3 + years of experience at Senior Manager level
  • Experience of using ERP Procurement Module
  • Project management
  • Good understanding of Telecom business
