Water Integrity Network (WIN) Job Vacancy In Zimbabwe


For its Secretariat in Berlin, WIN e.V. is looking for a dynamic, motivated person to replace our Communications Coordinator during her maternity leave, for the period August 2015 – May 2016.
The Water Integrity Network (WIN) is a network of organizations and individuals promoting water integrity to reduce corruption and improve water sector performance worldwide. WIN works to raise awareness on the impact of corruption especially on the poor and disenfranchised. It assesses risk and promotes practical responses by working with partners to build capacity, influence decision-makers, and develop integrity tools.
The network is supported by a nine-person Secretariat in Berlin. Previously hosted by Transparency International, the WIN Secretariat is now an independent international NGO governed by the WIN association (WIN e.V.). The Secretariat forms a small and highly committed team to further our mission in close cooperation with our network of partners.
Responsibilities
The Communications Coordinator develops communication plans and products in support of WIN’s vision and mission as described in the WIN Global Strategy 2011-2016. The Communications Coordinator organizes events and creates publications, online material, and other media, targeting a variety of audiences and stakeholders -including partners and the press- to communicate WIN’s messages for the water sector.
Duties
  • Coordinate WIN communication and information services in accordance with the WIN Global Strategy 2011-2016 and the Strategy Implementation Plan 2014-2016
  • Manage and develop WIN’s online presence (website, social media, external sites…)
  • Coordinate the production of WIN publications including the management of content, style, editing, design, translation, and distribution
  • Coordinate communication and press support for major international water events
  • Develop and monitor implementation of communication plans to support WIN projects and programmes
  • Encourage virtual networking and information/experience sharing in the WIN network and with partners
  • Publicize WIN work, both internally and externally
  • Monitor news and media related to water and corruption, track coverage of WIN
  • Support networking and communications services in three working languages (English, French, Spanish)
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
  • Higher degree in journalism, communications, development policy or a related discipline, with 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Successful experience in writing, editing and visualizing communication pieces in the NGO sector
  • Experience developing media plans and interacting with the press
  • Good knowledge of and experience with Content Management Systems (wordpress in particular), website design and maintenance, virtual networking tools or online communities of practice, and analytics
  • Proficiency with database management
  • Experience with publication management and proficiency with publication and graphic design tools
  • Experience in and enthusiasm for managing effective online / social media presence
  • Preferably, experience in awareness-raising on a subject relevant to this position
  • Ability to translate requests from colleagues and senior managers into written online and print communication products
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks professionally
  • Excellent communication, writing and organizational skills
  • Excellent writing skills in English
  • Preferably, strong command of French and/or Spanish
