The Workers’ Compensation Fund Control Board (WCFCB) is a social security scheme responsible for compensating workers in respect of accidents suffered and diseases contracted during the course of employment in accordance with the provisions of the Workers’ Compensation Act No. 10 of 1999 of the Laws of Zambia.

The Workers’ Compensation Fund Control Board invites applications from suitably qualified Zambian citizens to fill the following vacant position.

ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT – BENEFITS (x 1 )

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of the job is to ensure that beneficiaries/ pensioners are correctly and timely paid and that a record of such payments and other accounting records are kept for the management reports and financial statements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Approves payments with due diligence to ensure that all claims are settled within the shortest possible time.
  • Approves the pensioners payrolls before advising the paying agents to effect payments to beneficiaries.
  • Approves claims payments for GRZ pensioners in order to speed up the claims process.
  • Keeps an accurate and up to date record of all payments so as to provide data to management for control purposes and decision making and preparation of financial statements.
  • Approves reconciliation of accounts of the Board with paying agents and also branch pension accounts to portray the correct financial status of the organization.
  • Acts as a contact person of the Board for pension paying agents.
  • Approves reconciliation of all accounts with the Board ‘s paying agents.
  • Coordinates all the activities of the section and also provide financial guidance the branches relating to pension payments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have the following:

  • Grade Twelve ( 12) Certificate
  • Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent plus ACCA part II/ CIMA part II or ZICA part II.
  • Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
  • At least two (2) years’ relevant experience.
  • Numerical and interpersonal skills
  • Good personal organization
  • Computer literacy
