World Vision started work in Zambia in 1981 with three small community developments projects in Mkushi district north of Lusaka. In 1995, World Vision Zambia started implementing the Area Development Programme (ADP) approach involving detailed planning and documentation as well as covering a large geographical area with significant amounts of financial resources, longer project life span. World Vision Zambia has now 40 large scale programmes well spread in all 10 provinces of the country.

People And Culture HR director

Purpose of the job
To provide leadership to people and culture department through talents management, implementation of HR policies, and People & Culture best practices in the areas of organizational design and development as well as other Human Resource functions.

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Law, Social Sciences, Management or related fields
  • Master degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or Organization Development would be an added advantage
  • At least 10 years of experience as Human Resources Manager
  • A fully paid Member of the Institute of the Zambia Human Resources Management (ZIHRM)
  • Demonstrated ability in Leadership
  • Knowledge of labour relations
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina
  • Ability to interpret statistics information and make management decisions which impact positively the work
  • Excellent Communication & Articulation Skills
  • High level of accountability, integrity, and honesty
  • Computer literate

Working environment/conditions

  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
  • Travel: 20% Domestic /International Travel is required
  • On call: 20%
