Position Title: Induction Furnace Fitter

Position Type: Full Time

Position Summary and Requirements

The Induction Furnace Fitter is responsible for the maintenance, repair and operational functions of the induction furnaces installed at Yellowstripe Resources Zambia Limited. The suitable candidate must have the required experience and skills that include the following:-

• Extensive knowledge of working principles of an Induction Melting Furnace is required.
• Experience in the preparation and maintenance of the refractory furnace lining of induction furnaces.
• Maintenance of accurate records on induction furnace inspections before and after heats.
• Preparing the furnace for smelting functions through the knowledge of lining the furnace with the correct additives of materials based on the scrap metal raw material selection.
• Knowledge and experience in the maintenance of hydraulic aspects of the induction furnace.
• Preparation and inspection of appropriate raw materials for the furnace including knowledge of the various chemicals required for the different types of selected raw materials and required product output.
• Knowledge of ensuring maximum productivity by managing the scrap metal load management for the induction furnace to ensure maximum molten production.
• Ability to work as a team with all Staff members including management including other duties that may be required.
• A mechanical diploma with five (5) year work experience on induction furnaces or;
• Valid track record showing experience of Seven (7) years in the steel manufacturing industry, in particular, working in the maintenance and operating of Induction Furnaces.
• An added advantage will be given to applicants who have the experience in operating, maintaining and repairing an electrothermal steel frame melting furnace.
