Bata, a leading shoe manufacturing organisation with a wide range of retail outlets spread countrywide is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to fill the position of MERCHANDISER.
Job Title: Merchandiser
Job Purpose:
The Merchandiser provides support to Bata’s Merchandising Manager in discharge of duties as defined below.
Responsibilities:
- To establish and update, seasonally, store estimates and requirements in accordance with store classification and in conjunction with the Merchandising Manager.
- To assess regional requirements in accordance with base shoe line.
- To ensure never out of stock articles are maintained as per store requirements and volume.
- To frequently visit stores in order to assess merchandise mix against family shoe store competition within the region.
- To suggest to the merchandising manager regional action on slow movers.
- To recommend “price point” requirement by store.
- To establish and maintain constant communications with shop managers within the region.
- To prepare regrouping and “sidewalk sale” pricing within region or cities.
- To modify stock standards and transfer stock to maintain a proper merchandise balance by category.
- To analyze on a regular basis, regional size mix requirements and convey needed modifications to the merchandise manager.
- To follow up on stock transfers in order to ensure they are taking place according to schedule.
- To revise standard assortment chart every half yearly in consultation with managers from the main stores.
Education and Experience
- Full Grade 12 O’Level Certificate
- Minimum of a Diploma in Marketing / Business Administration
- Zambia Institute of Marketing Membership
Skills/Competencies:
- Good Communication Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
- Ability to Work Under Pressure and Meet Deadlines
