After many years of very serious consultations, the Catholic Bishops of Zambia resolved to establish a university in Zambia known as “The Zambia Catholic University” (ZCU). A vacancy has arisen for the position of Marketing/ External Relations Officer at the Zambia Catholic University for a dynamic and achievement orientated individual.

Job purpose

The Marketing / External relations officer shall be responsible for the effective promotion of the university’s academic programmes and general pubic image.

Principal duties

The holder shall undertake the following main duties:

  • Plan, develop and deliver marketing strategies on the University’s Academic programmes within agreed timescales and set target results
  • Initiate and execute new innovative ways to communicate the university’s messages, vision and mission to the pubic
  • Establish and maintain sound relations with the public media, marketing agencies and other stakeholders
  • Design and produce effective marketing materials
  • Participate at various local, national and international events and exploit marketing opportunities.

Job requirements

  • A degree in marketing is essential
  • Previous experience of at least three years in a similar marketing / external relations role
  • High level of oral and written skills
  • High Ethical values
  • Should be a Practicing Christian
  • Ability to design graphics
  • Clean driving licence
  • Drive achieve set targets
