The Civil Service Commission invites applications from suitably qualified serving officers to fill vacant positions in the Ministry of National Guidance and Religious:

Job Title: Assistant Director – Religious Affairs – 2

Responsibilities

  • To manage the mainstreaming of religious affairs into the government’s agenda and relations between the state and religious bodies in order to facilitate realization of national religious aspirations

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing effectively, the development and review of the religious policy as well as mainstreaming of religious issues into national policies in order to facilitate growth of Christianity and ethical governance
  • Managing effectively, the dialogue between members of different Christian denominations and faiths in order to facilitate collaboration on matters of mutual interest and promote national unity
  • Managing periodically, the planning and implementing of national religious events in order to promote and affirm national commitment to religious values
  • Managing periodically, the identification and preservation of religious sites and artifacts in order to preserve the country’s religious heritage
  • Managing effectively, the hosting of Church/State dialogue in order to facilitate Church participation in policy analysis and formations

Qualifications

  • Thirty years and above
  • Grade Twelve or Form 5 School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) ‘O’ Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics
  • A Bachelor of Philosophy or any related discipline
  • Two (2) years relevant work experience at management level
