Zambia Farm Employers Association (ZFEA) Latest Job Vacancy: Labour Consultant
1. BACKGROUND
The Zambia Farm Employers Association (ZFEA) is an Association registered under Industrial Relations Act no 36 of 1971. The Association represents the interest of Farm Employers and is a bona fide member of the Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU) and negotiates with three workers unions representing the interest of farm workers.
To ensure that Labour issues affecting Farm Employers are responded to in line with the Collective Agreement that ZFEA has signed with its social partners, thus; the National Union of Plantation and Allied workers (NUPAAW), the Grains and Meat Union of Zambia (GRAMUZ) and the Zambia Union of Sugar Industry and Allied Workers (ZUSIAW), the Association would like to hire the Services of a Labour Consultant.
2. SCOPE AND DELIVERABLES
The Consultant shall undertake the following specific tasks;
1. To respond to queries from ZFEA members on all labour issues made by telephone or email or by a visit of a member to your offices including such matters brought to the attention of the Consultant by the ZNFU / ZFEA.
2. To carry out requisite research on matters in contention brought to the attention of the Consultant by the member(s) of the ZFEA or through the ZNFU.
3. To carry out requisite research on matters requiring advisory opinion brought to the attention of the Consultant by the member(s) of the ZFEA or through the ZNFU.
4. To undertake reconciliatory functions as may be deemed necessary in labour disputes involving members of the ZFEA when called upon at the instigation of the member or through the ZNFU.
5. To carry out -of-office assignments when called upon by the member/s of the Association at discounted fees, which assignments and the related fees shall be executed with prior agreement between the Consultant and any one such member/s.
3. CONSULTANT’ EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Consultant should possess appropriate professional and academic qualifications in labour matters with suitable experience in similar assignments.

In addition to the above, the Consultant must be duly registered with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
4. PAYMENT TERMS
The Consultant shall charge the ZFEA a fixed monthly retainer fee to carter for the routine inquiries/assignment. For non-recurring and one-off or unique assignments, the Consultant shall charge the ZFEA or farmer a separate negotiated fee for the activity as they arise.
The Consultant shall therefore be expected in their financial proposal to clearly indicate the monthly retainer fee and to also provide a schedule of fees for possible one-off assignments.
5. CONTRACT PERIOD
The Consultant is expected to enter into a contract for a period of two years.
6. REFERENCES OF SIMILAR ASSIGNMENT
The consultant is required to submit at least three traceable reference of similar assignments clearly indicating the contact details of the references.
7. LANGUAGE OF BID DOCUMENT AND NUMBER OF COPIES
The bid document should be in English and a minimum of two copies of the bid document including the original copy will be required.
