Zambia Law Development Commission: Director


The Zambia Law Development Commission (ZLDC) is a Government Grant—aided corporate body under the Ministry of Justice. It was established through an Act of Parliament No. 11 of 1966. The Commission’s mandate is to undertake law reform and revision in Zambia.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Answerable to the Chairperson of the Commission, the Director is responsible for managing, administering, planning and coordinating the operations of the Commission. She/he is the Secretary to the Commission.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  •  The Analytical skills for research and report writing.
  •  Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  •  Be a leader with potential and experience to implement decision/policies of the Commission
  •  Excellent understanding of values of the Zambian people in relation to legislation/new areas of law

QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Grade 12 Certificate.
  •  Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree.
  •  Master of Laws (LLM) Degree.
  •  Advocate of the High Court of Zambia.
  •  Must have ten (10) years’ experience in legal research and administration at a senior level
  •  Must be thirty five (35) years and above.
  •  Fair understanding of computer applications.
  •  Be able to interpret financial statements.
