Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc (Zanaco) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Operations Division under the Payments Centre Department at Head Office:-
BUSINESS PARTNER (X1)
JOB PURPOSE
To have the overall responsibility to serve as the strategic interface with various business units for the purpose of strategy development, risk management, solution discovery, service and relationship management. To manage the Payments Centre/ departmental performance and financial analytics.
The Business Partner serves as the business relations link to business units by acting as the primary point of contact to business line executives and managers in promoting the services & capabilities of their function in order to drive organisational outcomes that ultimately enable the achievement of business objectives.
Under the supervision of the Head Payments Centre, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:-
- To ensure that line managers are informed of and understand new developments and participate in strategic and budgetary planning processes and provide a recommendation on desired policies and goals.
- To conduct business intelligence & produce performance monitoring analytics for the department.
- To enhance a mutual focus and shared vision of respective solutions and facilitate decision making, and arbitration relating to trade-offs on the respective various options.
- To provide proactive expert advice and equip key clients with appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage their business in line with approved budgets.
- To create and analyse relevant information and develop recommendations that are presented to the business in the required timelines.
- To act as a primary point of contact with the designated client base on the functional agenda – influencing managers by building and sustaining credibility and strong working relationships, challenging views when necessary and becoming an active member of clients management team.
- To proactively gain client feedback to aid respective functions to improve service levels and appropriately alert function areas of impact to the business.
- To coach and develop line managers, building their skills and competencies to manage and maximize their effectiveness and performance and that of their teams
- To work in partnership with the business to provide specialist coaching, support and influence that enable key clients to effectively deliver their business plans.
- To provide a consultancy service that delivers best practice and commercially focused solutions that support the business.
- Any other responsibilities as maybe assigned by management.
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACT
- External: BOZ, ZRA, Commercial Banks, etc.
- Internal: All Divisions
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects.
- Degree in Business Management or other related fields.
- Professional: CIMA/ ACCA/ ZICA Membership or related is an advantage.
- ACI or relevant certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum six (6) years working experience in the Banking/Financial Services sector.
- Conversant with various bank processes, payment & settlement systems.
- Conversant with BOZ/ ZRA Regulatory reporting requirements.

- Proficiency in MS Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to explain complex information clearly and simply
