The Role is responsible for Planning, Designing, and Implementing the overall functions of the Core Banking Systems Support Management in order to improve the Bank-wide Customer Experience in offering state of the art Core Banking Systems while innovating new Solutions for improved Customer Traction and Experience as well as ensure that the Bank’s Business Strategy is achieved. Its Core Objective is to continuously improve the Core Banking Systems environments and capabilities through Monitoring and Innovating of new Solutions whilst ensuring adherence to Budget and Performance.

Under the supervision of the Core Banking Support Head, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities: –

  • Coordination and adherence of the all Core Banking Applications Policies, Procedures and Processes and ensuring all End of Day (EOD) Operations (Day, Month, Year) enhancements and Performance improvements align with Bank’s Strategic Objectives and Goals.
  • Coordination and adherence to instituted proactive measures to ensure Systems Availability and Performance stays above prescribed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure support is provided to both Internal and External Service Level Agreements across all Business Units/Departments and various 3rd party Vendors/Service Providers.
  • Monitoring and review of all Core Banking Applications Software maintenance and support Contracts.
  • Support in the Research, Analysis, advise and make recommendations on new cost-effective Technological Innovations relating to Core Banking Applications needs.
  • Ensure that Core Banking Applications are run smoothly and all required reports are successfully generated and made available to the Business.
  • Implementation of Systems Business Continuity and Information Technology Disaster Recovery Annually.
  • Management of Core Banking Applications Audits in relation to current Processes, Policies and Procedures in order to monitor and improve efficiency of Core Banking Applications.
  • Provision of a Consultancy Service that delivers Best Practice and commercially focused Solutions that support the various Bank’s Business areas.
  • Review and Interpretation of Operational Data in order to carry out assessment need for procedural reviews and enhancements.
  • Anticipation and management of risks that come with long term and large Information Technology Investments.
  • Evaluate risk likelihood and impact and prioritize them for analysis and response planning.
  • Ensure that all risks applicable to any area is identified, assessed, reported and captured in the Risk Register.
  • Ensure accurate and complete reporting of risk events within the stipulated time line (i.e. 7 calendar days).
  • Ensuring agreed SLA availability for the following Systems; FLEXCUBE Application, Loan Management System.
  • Management of Incidents and Problem Resolution for issues logged through the 1st and 2nd line Support for all Applications and ensure Team 24/7 availability.
  • Ensure Conducting of Periodic review of Cases and follow up on Outstanding issues.
  • Management of Audits (Internal and External) relating to Core Banking Application and Loan Management System.
  • Data mining from FLEXCUBES and Loan Management System including extraction of Information from both FCC and FLEXCUBES Databases when requested by Stakeholders e.g. Auditors in cases were other Units such as MIS are not able to provide.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACT

  • External: Vendors, Consultants, Industry Networks – future looking researching, monitoring, awareness of industry trends and practices.
  • Internal: All Divisions

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • IT related Degree, MSc/MBA an added advantage
  • 3-5 years working experience in Banking IT  Technology, Certifications Required: ITIL, COBIT 5, Prince 2
  • Agile project management experience
  • Content Management System experience.
