Zambia Open Community Schools (ZOCS) exists to enable the OVC in Zambia, especially the girl child and children with special educational needs, to access quality education. ZOCS hopes to achieve this through Advocacy, Capacity Building and support to community schools through Service Delivery, mainstreaming the cross-cutting issues of gender, HIV and AIDS and disability, as well as learning-based monitoring and evaluation of its interventions. ZOCS seeks to recruit a qualified candidate who is motivated and result oriented to fill the following position:

 

Under the supervision of the M&E Manager, M & E Officer will ensure the timely collection and collation of data and provide support to data analysis.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Monitor the implementation of project activities by ZOCS and its partners in the target community schools.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of monitoring tools for the programme
  • Support and coordinate data collection from school level through to national level.
  • Work closely with Data Entry Clerks to ensure quality data is being inputted into the database.
  • Support research and data analysis for evaluating programme effectiveness
  • Support in-house training in utilisation of M&E tools
  • Support programme staff to collect human stories
  • Ensure donor reports contain correct and accurate data
  • Represent ZOCS at relevant meetings and workshops
  • Perform other tasks as may be requested for by management

 

Qualifications

  • BA in Social Sciences, Education, Development or other relevant discipline.
  • At least a Certificate in M&E

Skills/Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar Position.
  • Data collection and research experience essential
  • Data analysis experience preferred
  • NGO experience essential
  • Knowledge of data management systems essential (SPSS, Epi-Info, Excel etc.)
