Zambia Sugar Plc, a large agro-industry which is part of lllovo Sugar Ltd, is the leading sugar producer in Zambia. Its main activities are the growing of sugarcane, the production and marketing of sugar downstream products. The Company has a permanent employee base of 1700 employees and offers medical, educational, sport, recreational and other social facilities on the Estate in Mazabuka.

The Company now invites applications from suitable qualified persons to fill the following position:

Communication Manager (Zamsug-CM-1)

Job purpose
To facilitate and coordinate Zambia Sugar communications and stakeholder engagement objectives; develop and implement communication (internal and external) in line with the Communication Strategy. This role will ensure that the Company’s engagement with stakeholder groups is effectively and efficiently maximised for the benefit of the business and to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • To promote a positive company images and reputation, that reinforces its role as responsible corporate citizens within the communities it operates
  • To establish working relations within Zambia Sugar (across all departments) to leverage on resources available to deliver on internal communications and engagement activities
  • To assist in budgeting and planning for the Communications and Corporate Affairs department
  • To manage and monitor expenditure for internal communications and stakeholder engagements
  • To sensitise and assist Management in handing communication on matters with potential of significant impact on the company reputation

Qualifications 

  • At least a Degree in Social Sciences(Preferable Communication or Public Relations) or its equivalent
  • Minimum of three years traceable senior corporate communication experience and in working communication services providers

Reporting
The position reports to the Communication and Corporates Affairs Manager
