Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund supplies smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms vastly more productive. We provide quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. We measure our success by our ability to make farmers more prosperous: On average, farmers harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund.

We are growing quickly. We currently serve more than 800,000 farm families in Eastern and Southern Africa, with more than 7,500 full-time staff, and we aim to serve 1 million farm families by 2020.

Job Description

As a rapidly growing organization, we are constantly innovating and improving our internal operational processes. Our Support Services Supervisor will serve as a vital part of our team, ensuring operations are running smoothly by providing administrative support. This position requires a strong ability to manage multiple priorities and demands at once, and excellent organizational skills.
The successful candidate will be a clear and confident communicator, excellent multi-tasker with outstanding interpersonal skills. They will help us ensure a safe, clean and productive workplace for our dedicated and hardworking staff. They will help us scale our operations as our team grows to match our expanding operations.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Maintain a database of One Acre Fund rental properties, manage and pay all utility bills for organizational properties.
Work with the procurement team to ensure that the office is well supplied with the necessary materials and equipment.
Attend to any incoming visitors by making necessary arrangements for their arrival, departure and stay.
Manage any maintenance for all organization vehicles, including regular cleaning.
Manage online calendars for use of organization vehicles, common spaces, etc.
General office maintenance. Working with appropriate third-party entities to ensure our offices are clean and safe.
Manage lunch and snack orders for events and meetings in the office.
Supervise cleaning staff, including scheduling, performance, and processes.
Other duties as requested.

Work Experience: Candidates with previous administrative experiences in office-based environments preferred.
Leadership: We are looking for candidates with demonstrated leadership experience at work, or outside of work.
Education: Strong educational background and formal education (diploma or degree).
Communication: Excellent written and oral communication.

Other Skills: Excellent organizational skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Google Sheets and Documents required. Intermediate or better typing speed. Email and internet usage.
Language: English required, Bemba, Nyanja, and Tonga speakers encouraged to apply.
