Founded in 1964, the Zambian Medical Association (ZMA) is a leading Zambian organization in health advocacy and innovative health programme development. A membership organization of all medical doctors in Zambia. ZMA promotes high standard of medical practice both in health facilities and at community level through the support of quality and sustainable health service provision, advocacy, health policy reform and research.
In anticipation of Funding from USAID for the Maternal and Child Health Project (MNCH) project whose objective is to reduce maternal and child deaths, ZMA seeks qualified, experienced and self-motivated individuals to fill in the following position:
1) Strategic Information Advisor
Is responsible for overseeing Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) activities including but not limited to, quarterly reporting, M&E coordination with other projects. Will design and provide oversight of studies and evaluations.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Public Health or other relevant discipline with most recent M&E training from a reputable institution.
Experience
At least 5 years of M&E experience
Proven experience and skills in research/study design and implementation including data analysis of quantitative / qualitative studies and rapid appraisal.
Required Silks
- Advanced computer skills in statistical software eg SPSS, STATA, Epi-Info etc
- Excellent skills n report writing, analysis and communicates effectively both orally and in writing.
Finance & Administration Director
Responsible for overseeing the financial and administration function of the project ensuring compliance with project and USAID procedure. S/he will work closely with the Project Director and the Technic Director and other district staffs to ensure project resources are effectively and efficiently budgeted an managed.
Qualifications
Must have a bachelors degree in Business or Accounting studies along with an ACCA or ZICA professional member. Master’s degree is an added advantage.
2) Technical Director
The Technical Director will provide leadership in designing effective and innovative intervention to reduce maternal and child mortality.
Qualifications
Must be a health professional preferably Medical Doctor, Nurse, Midwife, Clinical Officer or licentiate with Masters degree in public health or ether relevant clinical discipline e.g Obstetrics and gynecology
Experience
At least five years of project management or technical leadership experience preferably in maternal and child health, family planning and reproductive heath programmes.
3) Project Director
The Project Director will head the MNCH project he or she will be responsible for the overall management of the project s/he will supervise the implementation of the project ensuring that all agreed deliverables are achieved and reported to USAID. The Project Director will be the contact person for the MNCH project will ensure coordination with all stakeholders including Ministry of Health, Ministry of Community Development mother and child health, USAID and other USAID funded projects.
Qualifications
- Accredited university degree preferably in health sciences
- Advanced degree
- Masters or specialty in Public health, obstetrics and Gynecology or management
Experience
- At least 7 years project management experience of public heath projects/programmes
- At least 5 years senior management level experience
Required Silks
- Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain productive work relationships with stakeholders and partners
- Broad technical understanding of public heath, particularly maternal and child health and family planning
- Leadership and management skills
- Exemplary diplomatic skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
