ZICTA Recruiting: Network and Communications Advisor
ROLE PURPOSE
Administers the day-to-day operation of the Authority’s network infrastructure i.e. computer networks, communication links, telecommunications devices, training and special projects involvement
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, design, implement and maintain LAN,MAN and WAN network connectivity for the Authority Securely configure network devices such as routers , firewalls and switches Manage communication devices such as PABX and Unified Communications Servers Plan,implement and Maintain contact centre solution for the Authority Plan and advise management on computer networks and communication issues Manages network and physical security, anti-spam and anti-virus servers, intrusion detection systems Manage and monitor bandwidth usage to ensure availability to run systems Active directory user management Researches ,analyses, troubleshoots and resolves network and telecommunication related problems Manages the Authority’s DNS,DHCP and other network related systems Establishes and maintatins user active directory and email accounts;provides user training and related software support , application maintenance and documentation;updates user manual as needed; Review procedures in network management system manuals for making changes to network Ensures adherence to BCP and DRP Plans and procedures Research and evaluate new technologies related to computer networking and telecoms;
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
5+ years’ experience in information technology with a focus on Network and Telecommunications Administration Bachelor’s degree in related area such as Computer Science , Information Systems Management Member of the Computer Society of Zambia or Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) Advanced Knowledge of TCP/IP , Switching, routing ,Firewalls,VLANS MCSE,MCSA,CCNA – Cisco Certification a must Extensive knowledge and hands-on demonstrated capability of networks and network security management Valid Driver’s license
